Versatile rubber flooring offers a permanent solution to stall floors where concrete is used as an underlayment. The beveled tiles are 24" x 24" x 5/8" thick. Adhered down with a 2-part adhesive, these recycled natural rubber tiles can then be sealed with a clear polyurethane called Fresh Finish, providing a soft, non-skid surface, wet or dry. | Instead of stripping a stall to reduce the ammonia, simply sweep your bedding aside and use a hose or power washer to wash the dust and waste down the drain or out the exterior door. Once a month or so, you can completely rebed, meaning less bedding over time and a huge reduction in dust, ammonia, and other bacterial growth. Once the floor is free of soiled bedding - and without the burden and time of pulling up rubber mats - spray the tiles with an anti-bacterial product such as TekTrol©, sprinkle a little Sweet PDZ©, and rebed. And you won't need a team of football players to help with the process - it can easily be accomplished by one person.
We find that new construction projects are the best application for Versatile rubber flooring, but can also count barn remodels among this product's success stories. Drains are helpful, but you can wash down your stall floors and clean out through an exterior door (or for remodels without exterior doors, install a scupper - or opening - out the exterior wall). A more civilized floor than the old-style black rubber mats, this stall flooring dramatically reduces dust, virtually eliminates ammonia (with regular cleaning), and makes stripping the stall a one-person job instead of a team effort that keeps getting put off because of the hassle. Reduce your need for laborers, and turn a nasty job into a more pleasurable one. Versatile is also a great solution for concrete walls in barns made with CMU.
